Cook up a Storm!
With Zari Bar and Restaurant.
The award-winning Indian restaurant on Ifield Drive, has launched another year of cookery classes. Aimed at anyone interested in learning how to reproduce sophisticated and elegant Indian cuisine at home, this is a fun and efficient way to master Indian culinary skills.
It starts with an introduction to Indian spices and masalas – the basics of Indian cooking. The aim of the session is to cook a complete Indian meal (and eat it!). The class includes demonstrations in the show kitchen, step-by-step guides through the cooking, as well as demonstrations with explanations before participants cook each dish. Master chefs are on hand to observe and offer advice, as well as reveal secret Indian marinating techniques. Classes are small, usually around six people, to ensure plenty of one-to-one attention. Recipes are provided, and at the end of it all, participants get to enjoy the meal together.
John Rivett from Crawley, who recently completed the class, said, “The class isn’t hard work but it is challenging. It’s a day of enjoyment that shows what can be done if you enjoy cooking and use the best products. I’d love to do it all again!”
Courses take place in the extended kitchens of Zari Restaurant, on Saturdays from 1pm to 3.30pm and costs £50 per person. This includes one to one instruction by creative food director, Alamara Miah, all ingredients, recipes and workbook notes to take away with you.
