Splat Cooking have been running their highly successful Gingerbread House workshops, Edible Christmas Present workshops for the past 10 years and have recently added a new workshop – Cooking for Christmas.
Splat Cooking, the UK’s leading children’s cooking party company are running their hugely popular Christmas cooking workshops in a host of new venues this year. We’re in the middle of a recession so what better time to encourage children to make and create Edible Christmas presents to give to friends and relatives.
Splat Cooking have been running their highly successful Gingerbread House workshops, Edible Christmas Present workshops for the past 10 years and have recently added a new workshop – Cooking for Christmas. The Splat Cooking team, lead by children’s food guru, Beverley Glock, now run their Christmas workshops in Great Missenden, Salisbury, Silverstone, Devizes, Bath and Wanstead, East London
Gingerbread House Workshop – aimed at 5 year olds upwards. The workshop takes place over two mornings, on the first day everyone makes their own gingerbread mix and cuts out their houses, they’ll then take part in Splat Cooking’s sugarpaste masterclass and make Christmas characters to stick on their house. The Splat Cooking team will cook and stick the house together so it can set overnight ready for the decorating to begin the following morning. Prices are per house so you can make one together as a family or one each, prices range from £55-£65 per gingerbread house depending on location.
Edible Christmas Presents – aimed at 5 year olds upwards. You’ll make a selection of homemade chocolates, gingerbread decorations for the tree using royal icing techniques, chocolate bark, mini hand decorated Christmas cake, mini chocolate Christmas Puddings, fudge, Florentines, truffles, lavender shortbread and lavender sugar or a Christmas muffin mix to give as presents. The workshops vary from 2-3 hours and prices start at £20 per child or £60 per adult.
Cooking for Christmas – aimed at the over 8s. Food to prepare so you can eat it over the Christmas holidays such as homemade sausage rolls, mincemeat and mincepies, cheese straws or palmiers, biscotti or pannettone, prices start at £25 per child.
